Μανώλης Δημητριανάκης    Energy

Manolis Dimitrianakis, born in Myrtos, Creta,
studied law and worked professionally as a lawyer.
He started playing mandolin since he was very young.
He learned how to play bouzouki in the university
and was lucky enough to meet Markos Vamvakaris who showed
him for almost two years the secrets of rempetiko bouzouki.
He worked with old rempetiko performers, such as
Stratos Payioumtzis, Bagiantera, Kostas Roukounas,
Gianna Georgapoloulou, Odysseas Moschonas, Giannis Kyriazis, etc.
In 1972 he, along with the brothers Dimitris and Giorgos Kontogiannis
and other musicians formed the ‘Rempetiki Compania’ until 1980.
In Greek discography collaborated with N. Xidakis, M. Rasoulis,
N. Papazoglou, M. Loizos, Ch. Alexiou, N. Mamagakis, G. Ioannou
and Giannis Parios. His presence in discography is permanent.
